Sewing Circle

A&S Evenings in Afonlyn

Where: Farmland, IN
When: Monthly, varies.  (Contact Lady Isabetta for details and directions: see below)

Afonlyn hosts a monthly "Sewing Circle" which is our A&S gathering, where you're as likely to find arrow fletching as embroidery. The day usually includes some form of cooking, either open-fire cooking or indoor, depending on the weather.  Garb is encouraged but not required.  Any project is welcome, and Lady Isabetta is an amazing font of knowledge on a wide variety of subjects, with special skills in All Things Sewing Related!

Recent Focused Project Nights: Campfire cooking!

Afonlyn has an affinity for feeding people, it’s true.  However, just like there are certain skills which lead to success in a commercial kitchen vs a home kitchen, cooking outdoors has a whole different set of skills which are critical to the success of your meal if you don’t want to use propane or charcoal (and really, how authentic is propane for the 12th century, my lords and ladies?!)

With the acquisition of a cast iron cooking set, including a spit, tripod and grate, Afonlyn focus on creating delicious meals over the campfire and has even been experimenting with various forms of bread cooked over the fire, the results being very similar to pita bread, and so delicious when paired with the other dishes!  Interested in outdoor cooking, or any other art/science project?
